THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

Granite Hills is sending its top three seeds that competed in Friday’s EYL Tournament at Tulare Western into today’s Valley qualifying round.

No. 4 seed Cailtin Jetter dispatched her Western counterpart in the first round, 8-1. She then faced off against a familiar foe — Porterville’s Larissa Clem — and defeated her 6-0, 6-2.

Jetter plays Monache’s top star Jasmine Martinez today.

No. 3 seed Sarah Herrera took the first round 6-0, 6-2, over a Delano opponent and next plays Tulare Western’s top singles player Brooke Hillman in the semis this morning.

The doubles tandem of Bailey Ward and Mai Lor battled with Cesar Chavez’s top doubles team and came away victorious.

They also played familiar faces in Monache’s top doubles tandem of Tiffany Camat and Allie Mejia and won 6-1, 6-3 in the second round.

Ward-Lor opens today against Western’s top duo.
