Woman suffers major injuries in scooter crash

A 65-year-old Springville woman was badly injured after she lost control of her scooter and landed in a dry canal.
The accident happened around 12 p.m. Wednesday on Road 320, north of Avenue 176. The California Highway Patrol reports that Janette Finfrock was driving her scooter north on Road 320 at about 30 to 35 mph when she allowed the scooter to travel onto the east dirt shoulder.
Finfrock lost control of the scooter and when she attempted to return to the roadway, collided with a metal paddle marker. As a result of the collision, Finfrock was ejected from her scooter and landed in a dry canal, the CHP reports.
She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno via air ambulance for major injuries.
