Measure O good for students

THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

Dear Editor,
The Springville Union School Board’s main purpose is to promote the welfare of  the children of our school. I am a member of that board.

The upcoming election gives voters another chance to help the students of Springville. Measure O is being presented again for several reasons.

First, in the previous election misinformation was given to the public regarding the use of monies.
Voters were told in full page ads that a 12 million dollar sports complex was being erected.

Next, this measure is an opportunity for Springville to qualify for tate bond money we already pay taxes on.
Without Measure O passing no money will go to Springville.

Furthermore, most school bonds require at least 2 trys to get them passed.

It is the Boards responsibility to work for the best interest of the children. On Oct. 28th Channel 30 Action News aired a piece showing Rick McIntyre opposing Measure O.

As he stood near his own private gym erected for his sons, he stated that the “$12 million bond” was too much to spend for the 300 plus students of Springville.

Again misinformation, the bond is for $6 million dollars. I would ask what is the magic number to make it important for a child to have a place to eat, study and assemble?

Are they not all investments in our future. The Springville School Board feels they are and asks you to support us in passing Measure O.
