CrossFit 559 has moved to a new location in Porterville and is having a grand opening Saturday.

The fitness center is now located at 25 N. E St., behind the Salvation Army.

Saturday’s festivities begin at 9 a.m. with registration, a ribbon cutting and speeches by owners Joanye and Jerry Stump and members Jason Moyes and Adrienne Ball, followed by the National Anthem sung by Jose Miranda at about 10:30 a.m.; CrossFit workout of the day and mini-competitions directed by John Mustafa; and an awards ceremony at about 1:30 p.m.

Mustafa is an official judge of the CrossFit games, a four-day event held at the Home Depot Center in Carson.

Lunch and beverages will be provided for CrossFit 559 members and their guests, and everyone that participates in the workout of the day and mini-competitions.

Anyone can participate free of charge, but must be 18 years old or with a parents signature. To register in advance or for more information call 920-0998, 739-1126 or 920-9343.
CrossFit 559 is also offering a discount for people who become members during the grand opening.
