Some words about Proposition 8

All of those who will be voting NO on Proposition 8 need to seriously consider the ramifications that will affect them, and that will ultimately take place, should the measure fail.

This legalization of same-sex marriage will usher in a new era where religious liberties will be increasingly restricted. Among the cause and effect consequences, discrimination, conformity and ultimately our government’s compelled compliance can be expected.

How will this affect the secular world, you may ask? Well, to put it in layman’s terms, simply this:

Some churches will, in time, no doubt lose their tax-exempt status. The churches that oppose this lifestyle, teach against it in their pulpits, those who refuse to allow their weddings in their churches, or speak openly, whether in writing or in tapes, will most likely be barred from this tax-exempt status. That is where the conformity comes into play.

Teachers in our public schools will no doubt lose their positions if they refuse to teach same-sex literature that has been purchased with our tax dollars and has become a part of the sex-education program.

This affects all areas of the workplace, as well. Individuals and professionals will be affected if they are Christians and stand up for their faith.

If we do not vote YES on Proposition 8, and what it stands for, I firmly believe that we, as individuals, will answer to God on judgement day. As God gave the king of Ninevah a second chance to repent and save his nation, God is offering the people California a second chance.

Thank God we have a second chance! Sodom and Gomorrah were not so fortunate.
