Sight conservation program
The Porterville Breakfast Lions have served the community of Porterville through various community service projects over 50 plus years. One of our major service endeavors remains Sight Conservation. This project provides for the complete eye care of individuals who are not fortunate enough to pay for it on their own. In addition we have provided for the removal of cataracts for two local individuals free of charge through our California/Nevada Lions Eye Foundation.
The Sight Conservation project has all occurred from the generous donations by community members, many of our local optometrists and ophthalmologists, and our club’s service projects. Two projects identified to raise funds for Sight Conservation are the Swing for Sight Golf Tournament in April and our Pulled Pork Drive Thru Dinner to be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at the Porterville Eagles Lodge on Henderson Avenue near North Main Street.
Please support us by purchasing dinner tickets from any Lions Club member or call 784-8459. If you are unable to make a donation now, you can send them to Porterville Breakfast Lions, PO Box 772, Porterville, CA 93258.
