Porterville woman alleges rape by man she met online
A 43-year-old Visalia man is in custody for allegedly raping a Porterville woman who he met on an online dating site.
The man, identified as David Pillow, is being held on suspicion of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and attempted sodomy.
The Porterville Police Department reports that on Sunday, officers responded to Sierra View District Hospital for a 46-year-old woman who had arrived and said she was raped on Jan. 14.
Police said an investigation revealed that the woman had recently met the man, later identified as Pillow, online.
On Jan. 14, the two agreed to meet at a local business and eventually went to a residence in Porterville to continue conversation, the PPD reports.
While at the residence, Pillow began forcing himself on the woman. She attempted to stop Pillow from engaging in sexual acts, but he continued advancing on her, forcing her to have unwanted sex, police said.
During the incident, Pillow allegedly forced the victim to perform other sexual acts, and at one point attempted to sodomize her, police said.
On Wednesday, Porterville Police detectives contacted Pillow in Visalia and arrested him.
Pillow was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.
