Man arrested for throwing pan at mother
At about 1 p.m. Monday, Porterville police officers went to a residence in the 1600 block of west Median Avenue in Porterville regarding the report of an attempted assault.
When officers arrived, they contacted a 64-year-old woman who reported that during an argument with her son, Alejandro Terminel, threw a metal frying pan at her. The pan narrowly missed the victim and damaged nearby kitchen cabinets, said police.
Terminel fled prior to the officers’ arrival and initial efforts to locate him were unsuccessful.
Just after midnight Monday, police went back to the Median address to attempt to locate and arrest Terminel. When the officers arrived, they located Terminel in the front yard; however, he fled on foot through several yards. After a 25-minute search, Terminel was found hiding in a nearby backyard and taken into custody without further incident.
He was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and a felony arrest warrant. He is being held in lieu of $40,000 bail.
