Man dies in motorcycle accident Friday
A 54-year-old Porterville man died Friday after losing control of his motorcycle, the California Highway Patrol reported Saturday.
The name of the man was not released pending notification of family.
He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Highway 190 taking the Main Street off-ramp at an unknown rate of speed.
He lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle. He and the motorcycle hit a raised curb and guard rail east of Main Street.
He sustained major chest and internal injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where he succumbed to the injuries shortly after 11 a.m.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been a contributing factor in the accident.
