Morris should resign
You have to really enjoy the hypocrisy that is PUSD governing board member Richard Morris.
Here is a board member who talks about serving the students in the school district. Putting the needs of students and staff first. Yet, Mr. Morris has personally benefited to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars of perks that come at the expense of those very same students and staff members that he claims to be working for. Athletic reductions, staff firings, classified hour reductions all under Richard Morris’s watch. Yet, not one penny of reduction in his personal tax payer provided benefits.
Question these virtually free perks that board member Morris receives and he goes into attack mode. Is this the Porterville School District or the Richard Morris School District?
Sad part is Mr. Morris doesn’t even realize the damage he is causing the school district. I can think of $90 million reasons his arrogance and self-serving nature has prevented this school district from fulfilling badly needed advancement and repairs.
So, I have a few easy questions for board member Morris. Are you serving for personal gain or for the needs of the students and staff as you claim? Would you still be on the PUSD board if you were not personally benefiting from virtually free health, prescription, vision and dental benefits?
Prove to the community that you truly will put the needs of the students and staff ahead of your own. Resign from the perks you receive, as other board members have done, so that those funds can be put back into the district that you claim to serve. Put every student in the districts needs ahead of your own and the community will support you 100 percent. I will be the first to throw you a parade.
So what do you say Mr. Morris? Student and staff needs first or you own?
