No smart meter
Editor,
The Southern Calif. Edison Co. has decided we need “smart meters.” So, in a few weeks they will lay off lots of meter readers. This makes more jobless, people who have homes to pay for, children to feed, clothes to buy, roof over their heads etc.
Why are they spending many, many thousands to buy “smart meters” when the old ones work just fine. Why fix things that aren’t broken, and keep people working.
Did you know if you don’t take the meter, you have to pay a one-time fee of $75 and $10 a month to pay for the meter readers to read your meter. I was also informed that this fee has been approved “by whom”? I have never been penalized for not taking or doing something in my life, have you?
I’m keeping my old meter. I think if we all do this, we can keep good people employed. I sure don’t want their unemployment on my conscious.
Anyone have any more ideas or answers that might help?
