Porterville College (8-4) opened Central Valley Conference play with a 25-14, 25-15, 25-15 win at Merced. Amanda Monge had 12 kills, four digs, two blocks and was 22-of-24 serving. “Her serving was outstanding,” PC coach Dale Henderson said.

Also for PC, Nayeli Colunga had 13 kills, two digs and one block, Sam Sawyer had 26 assists, three digs and two aces and Danielle Carrillo added four kills and four assists. “It was an excellent effort,” Henderson said. “The girls were really consistent with their play in every game. I was very satisfied with the performance. It was a good win for us.”
