Art on Main
Editor,
We celebrated dinner and arts on main; thank you to the more than 200 citizens who came. A huge thank you to the many collaborators who met for more than a year to coordinate this event on Main Street, Oct. 13. Our entire community benefits from the strong positive collaborative leadership from our city of Porterville and our chamber of commerce for our community celebrations.
This was new. When businesses start, there is always a risk. When communities try something new there is always a risk. This event invited us to experience our community — to be “in community” — in a new way — by sharing our art.
Collaborators were the American Association of University Women, the Porterville Chamber of Commerce, Porterville Art Association, Imagine Community Arts Center, Porterville Art Walk and Finance and Thrift. Participants were 32 West Gallery, Burford Frame and Gallery, Porterville College Art Club, Filipino-American Association, the Art Forms of India, Harmonix from Harmony High School, Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, Paul Sampiertro, Mariachi Academy, Yogini Patel, Shereese Soliman and Jim Kusserow.
Thank you everyone.
