Crash in Lindsay leaves one man dead

LINDSAY — A collision between a dirt bike and a quad Sunday night resulted in the death of Javier Benitez, 25.

The second driver has been hospitalized.

The crash took place just prior to 8 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Sierra View Street and Lafayette Avenue.

Benitez sustained major injuries and died at the scene of the accident, authorities report.

The other driver was transported to an unidentified local hospital with major head injuries and was listed in serious condition.

Both drivers wore helmets at the time of the collision.
