PC sweeps West Hills

Porterville College (13-4) needed less than an hour to set up its showdown with Fresno City as it swept 25-8, 25-15, 25-21 in 55 minutes at West Hills. Porterville and Fresno, both 6-0 in the Central Valley Conference, will face each other at 6 p.m. Friday at PC.

PC did have to overcome an 8-4 deficit in game three. “We kind of got out of synch the third game,” PC coach Dale Henderson said. “We missed a few serves. (We) started off sluggish the third game.”

For Porterville, Amanda Monge ahd 19 kills, five digs, one block and one ace, Nayeli Colunga had 12 kills, 12 digs and one ace, Allison Clem had four kills, five digs and one ace, Sam Sawyer had three kills, 29 assists and one ace, Kacey Markarian had 13 digs and Danielle Carrillo added two kills, one assist and six digs.
