Electrical short sparks residential fire in Richgrove

THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

Early this morning, Tulare County Fire Department units put out a fire at a single family residence in the 2000 block of Francis Drive.

Four engines and 12 staff arrived at about 2:15 a.m., and found the occupant of a single family residence on top of the roof with a garden hose, and smoke coming from the attic.

They went inside the residence and found that the kitchen wall behind the refrigerator had caught fire. It burned an area inside the wall that was approximately 10 feet in diameter.

Firefighters extinguished the flames, and discovered that an electrical short at the rear of the refrigerator had caused the fire.
