Teacher's job
Editor,
Arlene Murrell’s letter adressing Bill Peart’s letter was very informative to me. Now I know why students are not getting the basic education needed to be good citizens. You see I was under the assumption that parents were the ones that were supposed to teach the kids the “soft skills”, as Ms. Murrell calls them.
And here I have worked so hard to teach my three kids to “show up every day, be on time, work hard, and be considerate and polite to others.” And now I find out that’s the teacher’s job. Well no wonder teachers don’t have time to teach reading, writing and arithmetic.
Thanks for clearing that up Ms. Murrell
