PC volleyball drops two

It was a tough day for Porterville College at the Northern California Crossover at Sierra College as PC dropped two matches to ranked teams as Porterville lost to Feather River, ranked No. 9 in Northern California 21-25, 14-25, 19-25 and Sierra, No. 8 in NorCal, 19-25, 13-25, 25-23, 22-25.

PC coach Dale Henderson said his team, No. 10 in NorCal, was bigger than Feather River, but also said, “Feather River and Sierra were just more more quicker than us. Our defense really broke down.”

Against Feather River, Amanda Monge had 11 kills and one block and Sam Sawyer added 14 assists for PC. Against Sierra, Nayeli Colunga had 18 kills and three digs, Monge had 16 kills and four blocks and Sawyer added 33 assists for Porterville (6-3).
