Car dealership may be coming to Lindsay

A new car dealership may be coming to Lindsay. On Tuesday night council members will hear a request by Dealer’s Choice located in Visalia to establish a car lot. According to the staff report, the lot would be located at 598 Highway 65 which is located on the southeast corner of Highway 65 and Fresno Street.

The car lot would be 33,500 square feet. 7,000 square feet would display automobiles and another 3,500 square feet would feature recreational vehicles. The rest of the 22,100 square feet would be used for employee, customer and trade-in vehicle parking plus other structures.

Some of the project details include the repainting of structures to match signage, vehicles that are non-working must be kept out of view and landscaping would have to be maintained. For example, the lot would have to be kept clean and paving of the site would have to be undertaken to provide a clean surface.

Based on the agenda the City staff recommends the site plan review.

Other business includes:
-Considering an extension of the agreement with Tulare County in regards to the Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program.
- Establishing a Lindsay Financing Authority.
