Make some time — and dance!
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A lot of Portervillans don’t know that Trick Shot, a great dance band, plays from 7 to 10 p.m. every Thursday night at the Veterans Memorial Building on West Olive Avenue.
Long-time attendees go for the fun of it. Some people start dancing because they want to drop some weight; some want to keep their hearts in shape. A few come to listen to the music and talk.
All ages are welcome. Often there are more women; sometimes there are more men. Slow dances, swing, line dances, cowboy polka, cha-cha-cha, and rock ... sometimes others ... are included during the evening.
At 9 p.m. there is a break for refreshments (no alcohol). The cost is $5 per person. You can come for part of the evening.
We often arrive late, tired from a busy day. As soon as we hear the music, the energy and the smiles come back. We appreciate the dance being there. Try it!
