Ira "Dale" Bryant II

Ira "Dale" Bryant II, age 39 a resident of Porterville passed away on July 16, 2009 in Porterville.

Dale was born on February 17, 1970 in Porterville, CA to Ira Dale and Patsy Bryant. Dale attended local grammar schools and graduated from Porterville High School in 1988. He was active in football, FFA and the Sheriff Explorer program. After high school he enlisted in the Army. Dale was deployed and served a tour of duty in the Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom. Dale served with the Porterville Police Department for several years. He was also a Tulare County Sheriff Deputy. In 1996 he started working for the State of California Corrections at the High Desert Prison. After being promoted to Lieutenant at Wasco State Prison, Dale served his remaining career at the Corcoran State Prison.

Dale had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed riding his horses and tinkering with his 68' Mustang and 57' Ford Pickup. He enjoyed traveling and his outdoor sports of hunting and fishing. As an avid sports fan, Dale followed athletes such as Joe Montana and Tony Stewart. He loved spending time with his daughter Autumn.
Dale was preceded in death by his father Ira Dale Bryant I in 2006, his brother Dale Allen Bryant in 2002, and his grandmother Ollie Newboles in 2001.

Dale is survived by his wife Christine, daughter Autumn, step-son Chase Taylor all of Porterville, his mother Patsy Bryant of Porterville, and great grandmother Eunice Lilly of West Virginia. He is also survived by his brother Chris and his wife Ambra of Porterville, Tim and his wife Chong of New Hampshire, his sister Cindy and her husband Dustin Phillips of Kentucky.

Visitation will be held on Thursday July 30, 2009 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Whitehurst-Peters-Loyd Chapel.
