PC baseball falls to Cuesta

After an impressive 8-5 win at state power Cuesta on Thursday, Porterville College (3-3) came back down to earth on Friday. Cuesta is ranked fourth in Southern California, sixth in the state and eighth on the West Coast.

James Lopez was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Andrew Lopez and Christian Hamett each had a hit and a run and Mitchell Villarreal and James Bingaman each added a hit for PC. Johnny Sanchez, Kyle Stout, Brady Yard and Nick Garcia all combined to pitch well in relief for Porterville, holding Cuesta to 2 runs over the final 5 2/3 innings. PC led 2-1 before Cuesta scored three runs in the third inning to take a 4-2 lead.
