PC men fall just short at COS

COS 70, PC MEN 65

Porterville’s College’s hopes for a state playoff berth are likely over, but the Pirates (12-13, 5-5 in the Central Valley Conference) didn’t go down without a fight at the College of the Sequoias (16-10, 6-4). After the score was tied 31-31 at halfime, COS went on to take a 50-36 lead.

After PC pulled to within 50-45, COS went back up 57-45. PC closed to within 64-60 on Kameron Hoyt’s three-pointer and got to within 66-63 on Mikey Hidalgo’s fifth three before falling short.

Hidalgo scored 20 points Jason Carmichael had 14 points, Jordan Wilkinson had 10 points, Johnathon Brown had eight points and Hoyt added seven points for PC.
