Quick service
Editor,
I wanted to share an amazing little story with you. I live on the East side of Porterville in the house I grew up in, I work for the City of Porterville and drive through South Connor Street to Putnam in order to get to work.
In September, I was fed up with dodging the potholes on South Connor Street, when I got to work I decided to find out who to talk to about this problem. Springville Avenue, Success Drive, Tyler and Roby had all been repaved, but not Connor. I got on my computer and searched who to contact.
I contacted the individual with the county that I found. Within an hour I received a reply to my inquiry. Then I received two more e-mails in response to my question. I’ve got to say I was very impressed, but not convinced that the problem would be taken care of. Last week the graders showed up and within two days the street was repaved.
My sincere thanks to the road department for coming to my rescue. Less than two months to take care of the problem. It just shows that one person can make a difference.
