Drive-In condition

Editor,
I am one of those people that is very much aware of what’s right and what’s wrong. I care deeply enough for the people around me, familiar faces or not, because I always strive to be a decent human being. If I bear witness to something horrible, I offer assistance. That’s just the kind of person I am.

Recently I came across the old Drive-In Theater building and, curiosity got the better of me. I walked across the open field and was shocked at its overall condition. The windows aren’t barred, the doors aren’t boarded up, there is broken glass everywhere and endless piles of garbage.

Judging by an old copy of The Recorder that I found on the floor, the Drive-In Theater has not been properly maintained in at least eight years. Gang members can use this as a club house, and children can wander in there only to get hurt. Something has to be done about this.
