Cemetery condition

In 1992 my mother passed away and was buried at Hillcrest Cemetery at which time my sister and I bought two grave sites next to our mother so we would all be together (she resided in Southern California).

My sister passed away Aug. 15 of this year and her son and grandson came to Porterville to view the site and make the arrangements.

We went to Hillcrest on Wednesday, Aug. 23, and I cannot tell you how embarrassed I was at the condition of the cemetery. I do not believe I have ever seen it in such a sad state. Even if it was the end of the month, the headstones were sadly neglected, covered with grass and it seemed they had not been attended to for quite a while.

I sincerely hope that this is temporary and that all our relatives visiting their loved ones will find Hillcrest as lovely as it was in the past.
