Alva "Al" Gray

THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

Al Gray of Porterville, California, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2008, in Redding, California.  He was affectionately known as “Poppa Goat” by those who knew and loved him. Al was born on December 28, 1939, in Lindsay, California. 

He will be laid to rest at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery located at 11800 Gas Point Road, Igo, CA.  96047. Services will be held Tuesday November 18th at 2:00 p.m.

Al is survived by two siblings, Dale Gray and Mary McCurry both of Lindsay, California; his wife of 26 years, Mary Sue Gray; three children Mark Gray of England, Debbie Chappalear and Adam Gray both of the Redding area, California; and four step-children, David Chenowith of Porterville, California, Steve Chenowith, Debi Fergusson, and Tami McGuire, from the Arroyo Grande area in California. Al was also blessed with numerous grandchildren and loved them all. 

Al served our country in the US Air Force.

Al was loved by many and will be missed.
