Helen Elizabeth Burr

Helen Elizabeth Burr, a resident of Lindsay, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006. She was 89.

A memorial celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lindsay United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Karen Stoffers officiating.

Mrs. Burr was a native of Hannibal, Mo. She attended Exeter schools. She was a homemaker and worked as an instructional aide at Washington Elementary School in Lindsay. She was a member of the Gardenia Circle Garden Club, PEO Chapters EH and UZ and the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Lynda Roberson of Visalia; two sons, John Burr III of Escondido and Barry Burr of Lindsay; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Burr Jr.; and two sisters, Alyce Schellinger and Georgia Huneke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Lindsay United Methodist Church, 120 N. Gale Hill Ave., Lindsay, CA 93247; the American Heart Association; or the American Diabetes Association.
