Brenda G. Thompson

Brenda G. Thompson, 54, a former resident of Porterville went home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 14, 2008.

Brenda was born in Porterville, California on July 14, 1953. She graduated from Monache High School in 1971 then went on to Porterville College where she received her AA degree. Brenda then moved to Fresno to start a career in instructing students with special needs. She then went on to Galen to train as a medical assistant and following graduation she obtained a position as an E.K.G. Tech at Fresno Community Hospital where she worked for 20 years.

Brenda moved back to Porterville and attended the First Christian Church. She worked as a Missionary and Sunday teacher for four years. Following her dream to become a counselor, Brenda returned to school to earn a BA degree in Education from Riverside University.

After an accident, Brenda returned to Fresno where she began her work as a missionary helping people with their drug and metnal rehab.

Brenda left behind her parents Calvin and Mable Thompson of Porterville; sisters, Doris Davis of Duarte, Jacqueline Rogers of Fresno, Sandra Thomas of Porterville, Thelma "Anita" Thompson of Porterville and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held at Whitehurst-Peters-Loyd Chapl, 195 North Hockett St., Porterville at 10:00 a.m, Saturday, January 26, 2008.
