The Porterville College men’s basketball team took one more step toward a possible state playoff berth with an impressive 77-68 win on the road at Columbia on Wednesday.
PC (12-10) improved to 5-3 in the Central Valley Conference and is now in no worse than a tie for second in the CVC. The CVC’s second place team will clinch a berth in the state playoffs and the third place team could possible go to the state playoffs as well.
At Columbia (3-5 in the CVC), Porterville led 45-32 at halftime, led by as many as 15 points in the second half and was never really seriously threatened by Columbia. Jason Carmichael scored 21 points, Kameron Hoyt had 14 points, Miguel Perez had 10 points, Donald Lee had nine points and Dilpreet Thind added eight points for PC. “It was a good team performance,” PC coach T.J.
